About the Role
Trade Turbine is seeking a Retail Account & Sales Operations Specialist to support retail account growth, sales operations, and day-to-day execution across grocery, natural, and specialty retail channels.
This role will begin with a 6-week paid contract training and evaluation period. During this initial period, the selected candidate will be paid $1,000 per week as a 1099 independent contractor while learning Trade Turbine’s clients, account workflows, retailer processes, distributor coordination, reporting systems, and day-to-day sales operations.
If the training period goes well and both parties agree there is a strong fit, the role may continue as an ongoing full-time 1099 independent contractor position, with annualized compensation of $55,000–$65,000, depending on experience, plus a potential performance bonus of up to $5,000.
This role is ideal for a mid-level retail professional with experience in retail buying, merchandising, sales support, account coordination, distributor communication, grocery, natural products, food, beverage, CPG, brokerage, or sales operations. The position requires strong organization, follow-through, professional communication, and comfort working independently in a small, founder-led company environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support retail account management across grocery, natural, specialty, and chain store accounts
- Assist with buyer communication, follow-up, and account coordination
- Help prepare and organize sales materials, sell sheets, pricing sheets, product information, and new item forms
- Coordinate with distributors, retailers, vendors, and sales representatives
- Track account activity, deadlines, buyer requests, promotions, and follow-up items
- Support new item setup, promotional submissions, category review preparation, and retailer paperwork
- Assist with sample coordination and product information requests
- Maintain spreadsheets, reports, account trackers, and sales operations documents
- Help monitor retail activity, sales performance, movement reports, and distributor updates
- Provide administrative and operational support for retail growth initiatives
Ideal Candidate
- Experience in retail, grocery, natural products, CPG, food/beverage, merchandising, buying, brokerage, distribution, or sales operations
- Comfortable communicating with buyers, vendors, distributors, brokers, and sales teams
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficient with Excel, Google Sheets, email, shared documents, and basic reporting
- Able to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and follow-ups without heavy supervision
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working remotely and independently
- Interested in food, beverage, retail, grocery, and natural products
Preferred Experience
- Grocery, natural, specialty, convenience, or CPG experience
- Retail buying, merchandising, or vendor-side account support experience
- Distributor or broker coordination experience
- New item setup, promotional submission, category review, or buyer presentation experience
- Experience working with chain store accounts or regional retail accounts
Compensation & Engagement Structure
This role begins with a 6-week conditional training and evaluation period paid at $1,000 per week. During this initial period, the selected candidate will be engaged as a 1099 independent contractor.
Following the 6-week training period, if both parties agree to continue, the role may move into an ongoing full-time 1099 independent contractor position with annualized compensation of $55,000–$65,000, depending on experience, plus a potential performance bonus of up to $5,000.
Continuation beyond the initial 6-week period is not guaranteed and will be based on performance, fit, communication, follow-through, and business needs.
Work Arrangement
This is a fully remote role. The ideal candidate will be self-directed, responsive, organized, and comfortable working closely with the company president in a small-company environment.
